Our new meerkat mob had a great first week in Year 2. As well as showing wonderful number knowledge, writing super sentences and thinking about our first Big Question, pupils were busy making their reading buddies to help with reading homework. They look great and the meerkats are even looking forward to their first homework task! Click on the link below to their puppet creations. 

Reading Buddy homework will be set each Monday and should be returned by the following Monday. It will be a short reading comprehension sheet with a few questions to answer about their sentences. When pupils complete each task they will get a stamp on their Reading Buddy card. If they collect all stamps, they can join in with our end of term homework treat! 

All pupils now have their reading book and should aim to read at least 3 times a week at home. It will really help their reading progress! We will check reading records on a Monday and award merits for pupils reading 3+ times. 

A reminder that pupils have until Friday this week to complete their pre-learning task on fire safety and their Summer reading bingo card. Prizes and merits will be awarded this week. 

Year 2 Homework Fun Club will be running after school on a Tuesday until 4.30pm beginning Tuesday 23rd September. Pupils will have the opportunity to complete thier homework with adult support, and then we will have some fun time playing games or making something. It is open to any pupil in Year 2. Sign up and give permission for your child to attend on Parent Pay.
