Meerkats - Spring 1

4 January 2026 (by Mr Scott (meerkats))

Happy New Year to the meerkat mob!

We hope you have all had a super Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you in class tomorrow.

Our first Big Question of 2026 will be 'How is the U.K. different to Mexico?' Click on the link below to see our planning for this half-term, knowledge organiser and sticky words. If you navigate to the Homework page you will see our pre-learning task for this question. As usual, merits and prizes will be awarded to pupils who put in a great effort in completeing their task. The knowledge organiser and pre-learning task will be sent home on paper this week.

Our class Gallery page also has photos of our D&T project from last half-term. The pupils' stockings looked amazing and hopefully came in useful over the holidays!

This term, pupils will be coming into school in P.E. kit on our P.E. day. This will be a Monday for Year 2. Pupils DO NOT NEED TO WEAR P.E. KIT THIS MONDAY. We will complete our inclusion games this week which does not require a change of kit. P.E. kits still in school will be sent home ready for week 2.

We have plenty of fun activities planned this half-term. As few dates to note:

Adam Pepper will be spending the day with Year 2 on Monday February 2nd exploring Mexico and making a film.

The Open Centre will be visiting on Wednesday 4th February for a practical workshop to support our R.E. learning.

We also have a Forest School session and Mexico Day. The exact dates for these will be communicated very soon.

We look forward to seeing you in school tomorrow!

Mr Scott, Miss Fenlon, Miss Patton & Mrs Pitman.
