Today I have sent home our new phonics pets. These are great motivators for our phonics homework that will be sent home on a Thursday. Please could this be returned on Wednesday ready for the new homework so we can mark the phonics pets passports.

To emphasise how important reading is we are changing reading books as soon as they have been read three times at home, instead of having a set day so we don't limit how many new books we can read. Please can you make sure you sign the reading journals so we know when to change the books.

In year 1 we can take a morning snack outside that children can bring in from home. Please can this only be a healthy option, such as fruit. Then we will be having a snack in the afternoon which school will provide.
