Science - Parachute Investigation

In our Science lesson this week, Dragons class explored the force of air resistance. Working in small groups we investigated whether the shape, size and length of string on a parachute would affect how long it took to fall. We worked collaboratively to get our results and assess what we learnt about parachutes. 

Forces: Gravity

We began our Science work on forces by investigating gravity. By dropping balls of different mass, we noticed that they all landed at the same time! The trickiest part of our investigation was getting the balls released at exactly the same moment. Luckily after a few attempts, we did observe gravity at work and a few slo-mo online clips helped too. 

Bikeability

Many of our Dragons began their school year with a Bikeability session, learning how to safely control their bike and be aware of all around them. Both groups were praised by the intructors for their behaviour and listening skills.
